Insurance Guidance

Comprehensive insurance cover your car from physical damage caused by anything except collision, such as natural disaster, animal, vandalism, theft , and so on. In this case, Jessica Wilkinson lives in a suburban in state "C" where natural disasters like tornado and hail often occur. She has a car that often used for work. However, she doesn't have any insurance for her car. Wilkinson think she won't need any automobile insurance like liability insurance, collision insurance or comprehensive insurance, at least not yet. She always think that she can drive safely and carefully. Even though hail or tornado occur several times, she always park her car inside her garage. She thought that's a proper preparation. Not until hail come with heavy rain for an hour or two. The area where Wilkinson lived flooded and so her house with no exception her garage. She suffer damage not only for her house but also her car. The repair cost for her car is expensive. Her car need new engine and carpet replacement. The car also has electrical damage. Wilkinson has to pay more than $5,000 for the car repair cost out-of-pocket. She also has to pay the house damage repair cost.

Wilkinson's story will be different if she purchased at least comprehensive insurance, it will be better if she also had property insurance. Comprehensive insurance will help Wilkinson to pay the car repair cost and cut down her expenses so that she can use the budget for fixing her house. Jessica Wilkinson need to consider purchasing comprehensive insurance since she lives in a prone area. Comprehensive insurance seems insignificant but it will help in cutting down unexpected expense.

In different case, Marie Sue own comprehensive insurance for her car. One day, her car dented when parked in a shopping mall parking lot. Apparently, the other car driver who hit Sue's car run off from the site. Since she has comprehensive insurance, her insurer pay the car repair cost. Having insurance definitely give several benefits, it's better to prepare than sorry.

Comprehensive coverage is a type of auto insurance that covers damage on your car that is not caused by collision. You might think that comprehensive means full coverage but it's not true. Theft, vandalism, fire, natural disasters, animal strike, civil disturbance and falling objects are example items covered by comprehensive insurance. As long as you didn't collide your car with another car, comprehensive coverage will pay to repair the damage. It seems like "not-so-important" insurance, but you can't predict when those accident will occur. It's better to have coverage rather than having unexpected expense, and we know that auto repair can costly.

Collision coverage covers damage to your vehicle caused by collision with another vehicle or object. The insurance company covers your vehicle regardless who is at fault. For example, you hit a tree or a pole, crash with a building, bump into another car, rolling your car, or being hit by another car. Collision coverage comes with a deductible. Let say another car hit your car, but you use your coverage, you still owe your deductible. Your insurance company should try to recover your repair costs from the fault party. If it's successful, then your deductible may be refunded.

Both types of coverage are optional, it pay for damage to your car and come with deductibles as well. They have different items to cover and it's not futile to purchase both coverage for solid protection. Since collision claims are likely caused by "human error", the insurance rates expect to rise. Meanwhile, comprehensive claims are coming from something you can't control, the rates should not rise. Furthermore, some state laws against rate increases related to comprehensive auto insurance claims.

You are young, under 25 years old. And have sports car. Perfect? Not yet. No matter how good you drive, protect your car (and your self, of course) by purchasing performance car insurance. But isn't it expensive? Yes, it is. Performance car insurance is commonly more expensive than standard vehicle insurance. And it will be more expensive if the insured is under 25 years old because they tend to be riskier to insure. But it doesn't mean that you can't get cheap insurance quote.

There are several way to get cheaper performance car insurance for youngster. Options number one, get comprehensive insurance. Comprehensive insurance will covers accidental damage to your car or another vehicle or property. Options number two, third party fire and theft. This insurance will only cover your car from fire and theft as well as damage to other vehicle or property. Options number three, third party insurance. It covers only damage to other vehicle or property. You can also listed as a driver on your parent's existing insurance plan to reduce the cost of premiums. But you have to make sure that you're aware of the policy's fine print. You need to understand exactly what it covers and the excess cost involved when you make a claim.

How can I reduce my premiums?
  • Comparing. Don't hesitate to comparing prices between two or more insurance company. Get the best price as low as possible.
  • If possible, choose a car in 'low-risk' category. The newer and modern your car, the higher premiums you have to pay.
  • Install a black box in your car. Black box will monitors how you drive, the acceleration, braking, cornering and time of driving. You can get discount if you are proved to drive safely.
  • You can also install a tracking device. These schemes can cut costs, especially if you don't drive at night (11 pm - 5 am).
  • Park you car in garage. Keep your car in garage after driving as well as installing security alarm and/or immobilizer can reduce your premiums substantially.

Don't be reckless, drive safely, and be protected by performance car insurance.

During vehicle driving, it's not difficult to accidentally hit something or gotten hit. Therefore, you need collision coverage to protect your vehicle against physical damage. This type of coverage is important because anything can happen on the road. Some of the most significant damage to your vehicle can come from another vehicle, tree, pole, or guard rail. When you get into accident, you will pay your deductible then your collision coverage will help pay to repair or even replace your vehicle.

Collision coverage does not cover your vehicle if got damage from storm, flood, animal (deer), falling object, vandalism, etc. This coverage policy that distinguish between collision coverage and comprehensive coverage. You can purchase collision coverage only if you combine it with liability and comprehensive coverage. Collision coverage might expensive, so in order to lower costs people mostly choose minimum $500 deductible or higher. Raising your deductible can lower your auto insurance premiums. However, you should adjust the deductible with your ability to pay pocket if collision occur.

Purchasing both comprehensive coverage and collision coverage means your vehicle are fully protected. Comprehensive coverage usually cheaper than collision damage. Furthermore, animal and weather damages are common when it comes to vehicles. Collision coverage could cover your vehicle from your mistake or collision with other vehicle. When it comes to selecting your vehicle's coverage, you have to consider the cost of coverage with the value of your vehicle. Having both or one of these coverage type, you can have a little peace of mind.

Comprehensive Insurance is the type of automobile insurance which cover your vehicle from physical damage caused by anything but collision. This insurance would cover your vehicle if it was destroyed by natural disaster (tornado, flood, hail etc.), dented by run-in animal (deer), vandalism (spray painted), theft and so on. Comprehensive can be used in combination with other coverage or as a standalone coverage.

Comprehensive insurance often offers with a reasonably priced coverage with low deductible. With comprehensive insurance, you can claim for accidents you caused. It also applies if fault can't be proven. For example, your car got hit and the driver run off in the parking lot. If you don't have comprehensive cover, you have to repair your vehicle with your own pocket. Comprehensive policy gives you additional protection that you don't necessarily have to pay for expensive repairs.

The three components of automobile insurance policy are liability insurance, collision insurance and comprehensive insurance. In U.S state law requires drivers to have liability insurance, but collision and comprehensive insurance are optional. Comprehensive cover is the highest level of cover if someone take motor insurance in the United Kingdom. Comprehensive cover has gone cheaper in recent years than 'Third Party, Fire and Theft' cover. People in UK who take comprehensive cover are not only covered for third party claims after an incident, they are also covered for damage caused to their vehicle.

If you own an older vehicle or prefer to self-insure, you might not need comprehensive insurance. However, if you live in a rural area where collisions with animals are often occur, or you live in an area with unpredictable weather (stormy with much hail), in addition you live in a town where theft or other crime occur regularly, I suggest that you purchase comprehensive insurance, so you could have peace of mind.
